Northern Michigan lacrosse prepares to face Concordia-St. Paul on Senior Day

The Northern Michigan women's lacrosse team is preparing for a significant match against their GLIAC rival, the Concordia University - St. Paul Golden Bears, as they close out their home stretch this weekend. The game is scheduled for noon on Saturday in Marquette, Michigan.

The Wildcats will honor their five seniors: Minnie Bittell, Kaitlyn Bridger, Brigid Fornek, Clara Johnson, and Jane Taylor. As the team gears up for this eventful day, they hold an overall record of 10-3 and a conference record of 1-1. Their opponents, the Golden Bears, enter with a 6-7 overall record and also stand at 1-1 in the conference.

Bittell continues to lead in the GLIAC for goals and points while ranking second in assists with her statistics showing 54 goals, 21 assists, and a total of 75 points. Josie Lakosky ranks fourth in goals and fifth in total points within the conference with her own tally of 29 goals and nine assists. Bridger adds to the Wildcats' strengths as another point leader with 22 goals and 13 assists.

Defensively, Dayna Carlson has caused 13 turnovers for the Wildcats this season. Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Esposito ranks third in both saves (83) and save percentage (44.6) within the GLIAC.

For Concordia University - St. Paul Golden Bears, sophomore Susie Monson is currently second in both goals and points within the conference with her achievements of 34 goals and 50 points. Freshman goalkeeper Marge Lucio stands second in saves within the GLIAC with a total of 87 saves.

Both teams are tied for second place in the conference rankings ahead of their matchup this weekend.
