The NMU women's golf team wrapped up its participation in the GLIAC Championships at Stonehedge Golf Club, securing a sixth-place finish. The competition saw Grand Valley move past Davenport into first place, while Saginaw Valley State overtook Ferris State for third. Teams in the lower half of the standings remained unchanged from the previous day.
The Wildcats improved slightly on their second day performance, scoring +35 (323) compared to +36 (324) on day one, resulting in a total of +71 (647) for the weekend. They averaged 3.53 strokes on par 3s, 4.65 on par 4s, and 5.63 on par 5s, with a tally of 78 pars and 10 birdies.
Maya Hunter led NMU by reducing her score by two strokes from round one to shoot +3 75, ending with a total of +8 152. She finished eight strokes behind the leader and five behind second place, tying for sixth position. Hunter's front nine included birdies on holes three, five, and nine.
Hailey Bolander delivered NMU's second-best round at +8 80, featuring a birdie on hole five. Alyssa Yaggie scored +11 83, while Maggie Pietila completed her round with +13 85. Payton Donnelly narrowly missed contributing to the team score with her +15 87 but managed one of only three birdies over the weekend on hole eleven.
The Wildcats now await potential bids for either team or individual participation in the NCAA Regional Tournament.
