Maya Hunter concluded her participation in the NCAA Tournament at Carmel, Indiana, with a solid performance in the third round. She climbed four spots on the leaderboard after shooting a +4 (76), bringing her overall score to +17 (83, 74, 76 - 233). This result places her fifth all-time in program history.
Despite finishing fourth among individual competitors, Hunter did not advance to the next tournament round. The top two advancing individuals were Brook Herbstreit of SVSU with a score of +11 and Lisa Marie Schumacher with a score of +13.
Hunter excelled in par five scoring throughout the tournament, averaging 4.67 (-4) on these holes and leading the field with 13 birdies.
The course played slightly easier than before, with an average score of 79.86 for the day. Starting on the back nine, Hunter began with a bogey on hole 10 but managed four consecutive pars before ending her first nine holes at +4. Notably, she achieved par on hole 14, known as one of the toughest holes over three rounds.
On her front nine performance for the second consecutive day, Hunter scored five birdies in six holes and recorded two pars for an even-par total of 36.
