The Northern Michigan University men's soccer team concluded its road trip with a match against the Davenport Panthers, resulting in a 0-0 draw. This outcome allowed the Wildcats to earn a point on the road.

The Wildcats' record now stands at 2-9-3 overall and 1-5-2 in the GLIAC, while the Panthers hold a record of 3-4-5 overall and 2-3-3 in the GLIAC.

Despite being outshot 16-3, the Wildcats managed to keep the match scoreless. Head coach Alex Fatovic commented on the team's performance: "Unbelievable effort today from the boys. With all the injuries and guys sitting out, it took just about everybody to get a good result on the road. It's been a tough long season, but their guys hearts are all still in it 100%. One game to go then the playoffs, and I'll take this team against anyone in the GLIAC. Up the cats!"

In notable achievements during this match, Keegan Schmidt played his 69th career game, setting an NMU men's soccer record for games played. Goalkeeper Bryce Beckley made five saves and recorded his second shutout of the season.

Aydin Lambert and Erik Lotysz were responsible for three shots by NMU during this game. Kalvin Glodz, Finn van den Berg, and Erik Lotysz each played for all 90 minutes alongside Beckley.

During the first half of play, Davenport had early scoring opportunities that were thwarted by Beckley's saves. Aydin Lambert's shot at minute 17 was NMU's sole attempt during this period.

In contrast to their opponents' majority possession throughout both halves—Davenport outshot NMU six times compared with one—the score remained unchanged thanks largely due to Beckley's efforts as goalkeeper who successfully prevented any goals scored against them within regulation time.

Looking ahead towards upcoming matches: The Wildcats will host St Cloud State Huskies on Sunday October 22nd at home where they celebrate Senior Day starting promptly at one o'clock p.m., local time
