Payton Jacobson has secured a position on the USA Olympic Team and will compete in the Greco Roman Wrestling event at the Paris Olympics this summer. Jacobson, competing in the 87kg weight class, achieved victories with scores of 4-0 in the quarterfinals, 6-0 in the semifinals, and a close 1-1 decision in the finals. Max Black finished third in his category, earning spots on both the U.S. National Team and the U23 World Team.
In women's golf, participants concluded their weekend at the GLIAC Championships with a sixth-place finish. The team recorded rounds of +36 (324) and +35 (332), totaling +71 (647). Maya Hunter tied for sixth place individually with rounds of +5 (77) and +3 (75), totaling 152. This score ties her for ninth all-time for 36-holes in program history.
The Elaine Leigh Invite track and field event saw several first-place finishes: Crystal Walker won the long jump with a distance of 5.71 meters; Gianna Hoving claimed victory in the 1500m race with a time of 4:41.11; Madi Szymanski took first place in the 5000m with a time of 17:11.83. On day two, Ellyse Wolfrath won the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.54 seconds; Baux Truckey finished first in the 400m distance race at 58.53 seconds; Emme Burrough, Beverly Harper, Natalie Pisoke, and Ciara Ostrenga won the 4x400m relay clocking in at 4:01.11.
The lacrosse team had mixed results during their two-game road trip. They secured a win against Davenport on April 19th with a score of 12-7 but faced defeat against No.7/8 Grand Valley on April 21st with a scoreline of 2-13. Minnie Bittell was notable for scoring three goals and providing two assists against Davenport while also reaching within two points of achieving her career milestone of 300 points.
