NMU cross country team reveals ambitious schedule for upcoming season

The Northern Michigan University cross country team has announced its schedule for the 2024 season, featuring competitions across four states with the aim of reaching the NCAA Championships in Sacramento, California.

The Wildcats will kick off their season with an intrasquad "Wildcat Open" scrimmage on August 23 in Marquette. The regular season begins on September 6 in Green Bay at the Phoenix Open hosted by UWGB. On September 20, they will participate in one of the major cross country events of the year, the Roy Griak Invite in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Northern Michigan will conclude September with the Lucian Rosa Invite in Kenosha, Wisconsin on September 28. Following a week-long break, they will compete at the Lewis Crossover on October 12 in Romeoville, Illinois. The last regular season meet is scheduled for October 19 at the Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invite in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

The GLIAC Championships are set for October 26 and will be hosted by Ferris State in Big Rapids, Michigan. The Wildcats will return to Romeoville on November 9 for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships. After two weeks of preparation, they hope to compete at the NCAA Championships on November 23 in Sacramento.
