The Northern Michigan University Wildcats are set to face off against the Michigan Tech Huskies for the Miner's Cup on October 14 at the Superior Dome. The game, which begins at 7 p.m. ET, will be broadcast locally on FOX-UP with Mark Evans, Dave Ellis, and Kevin McNulty as the commentary team.

Shane Richardson expressed anticipation for the match, saying, "It's an exciting week and an exciting opportunity. We have to make sure we are still in the process of getting better and improving."

In their previous outing, NMU played against Davenport but were defeated 28-12. The Wildcats managed 247 yards of offense while forcing three turnovers in the first half. Freshman quarterback Aidan Hoard connected with Michael Love for a late touchdown.

Currently leading individual statistics within GLIAC are Tyquan Cox in all-purpose yards and Mitch Larkin in total tackles. The Wildcats also maintain a record as one of the least penalized teams.

Michigan Tech enters this contest with a 3-2 overall record and is currently on a two-game losing streak. Last week they narrowly lost to Wayne State with Alex Fries throwing for two touchdowns.

Historically, Michigan Tech has dominated this rivalry since the Miner's Cup was introduced in 2002, holding a 17-3 record over NMU.
