The NMU Men's golf team is preparing to conclude their regular season at the Lewis Spring Flyer Invite in Wheaton, Illinois. This event serves as the final competition before the GLIAC Tournament, which begins on April 12.

The tournament spans two days, starting on Friday, April 5, and concluding on Saturday, April 6, 2024. It will feature two rounds of 18 holes each.

Updates throughout the weekend can be followed on the NMU Athletics website and through social media accounts @nmu_wildcats and @nmu_wildcat_golf.

The competition will take place at Cantigny Golf Club. The club offers three sets of nine holes with varying challenges: Woodside with tree-lined fairways, Lakeside featuring four lakes, and Hillside known as both the hardest and shortest course.

In their last outing at Perry Park, Kentucky for the Klash of Kentucky tournament two weeks ago, the men's team achieved a notable victory. They maintained a 17-stroke lead after round one and finished with a score of 611 (300, 311).

Russel Sprecher secured an individual win with scores of 73 and 76 (149), narrowly defeating teammate Arthur Ylitalo by one stroke. Ylitalo completed rounds of 75 each day to finish tied for second individually.
