The Michigan Public Health Institute (MPHI) has announced that its Public Health Initiative for Resourceful Education (PHIRE) is now accepting applications. PHIRE is an initiative designed to empower and educate high school students of color about the opportunities and challenges in public health, with the goal of inspiring them to pursue careers in this field.

The program is a five-week virtual course sponsored by MPHI, structured around various components of public health to help high school students explore their interest in the field. Applications are due by July 8, 2024. More information and application details can be found at: https://mphi-phire.org/.

In addition to PHIRE, MPHI also runs the Equity in Action (EIA) Series aimed at equipping professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to integrate equity into everyday practice. Registration details for EIA can be found at: https://loom.ly/smgOVRc.
