Mid Foundation Celebrates Milestone and More

N

The Mid Michigan College Foundation recently welcomed new board members, and is celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2022.

The Foundation is governed by a 15-member board of directors, who volunteer their time to guide decisions that shape the future of Mid through the funding of initiatives and College-wide efforts.

The Foundation Board confirmed the appointment of three new directors who will serve three-year terms (2022-25), including Chris Moultrup from Three Rivers Corporation, Lois Pittsley from Dow (retired), and Dana Thering from MyMichigan Health.

  • Chris Moultrop (Midland) joined Three Rivers Corporation in 2017 and serves on the board of directors of Junior Achievement of North Central Michigan, City of Midland Downtown Development Authority, United Way of Midland County, Conscious Capitalism of the Great Lakes Bay Region (leadership team) and Midland Business Alliance.
  • Lois Pittsley (Mt. Pleasant) worked for Dow Chemical for 30 years retiring as a Global Procurement Director and serves as a board member for NAMI Midland County and is a Family to Family instructor. Family to Family is a free educational program for family, significant others and friends of those with mental health conditions.
  • Dana Thering (Clare) is the Vice President of Business Development for MyMichigan Health and volunteers with area organizations and her church, including community events for Open Door, Sports Boosters, Salvation Army, Relay for Life, and Christmas Outreach.
Five directors were re-elected to a second three-year term (2022-25), including Jenny Beemer-Fritzinger, Clare County Treasurer; Shelly Browning from Weinlander Fitzhugh; Jenny Hoyle from Isabella Community Credit Union; Erin Ludwig from Edward Jones, and Andrew Santini, attorney.

The Foundation Board also elected new officers for 2022-24, with Erin Ludwig serving as chair; Jenny Hoyle as vice chair; Jenny Beemer-Fritzinger as treasurer, and Shelly Browning as secretary.

Finally, three directors completed their terms, Ray Stover from MyMichigan Health (2009-22), Brock Dennings from F.E.D. Corporation (2019-22), and Mike Shea, Gladwin County Sheriff (2019-22.) Stover served as Board Chair from 2020-22 and Vice Chair from 2018-20.

“Many board members have served the Foundation over the past 35 years, and we’re grateful to them for generously giving their time and effort,” noted Tom Olver, Executive Director of the Mid Foundation. “We welcome our new board members with enthusiasm and are eager to continue shaping the future of the Mid Foundation.”

In celebration of the Foundation’s 35th anniversary, guests are invited to join the Foundation at Dow Diamond on Sunday, June 5 for an afternoon of fun as the Great Lakes Loons take on the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Those interested can get full details at midmich.edu/foundation.
