Congratulations to Karen, Jason, Salvatore, Danial, K-9 Sabre, and Marnie!

Happy retirement

Kent County Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on Dec 3.

Please join us in congratulating several #KCSOFamily staff members on their retirement!

Karen Johnson served the Kent County community for 21 years. She was hired in 2000 as an account clerk.

Deputy Jason VanDyke served the Kent County community for 25 years. In 1996, he was hired as a county police officer. He worked in our Community Services Unit, Investigative Unit, and has been with our Transfer Crew as Court Security since 2018.

Sgt. Salvatore Vitale served the Kent County community for 25 years. In 1996, he was hired as a county police officer. He was promoted to sergeant in 2011. 

Deputy Danial Alderink served the Kent County community for 25 years. In 1996, he was hired as a county police officer. He worked in our Investigative Unit and K-9 Unit. Deputy Alderink was partnered with K-9 Joe from 2006 to 2013 and has been partnered with K-9 Sabre, who will also be retiring, since 2014. He received the Distinguished Police Service award in 2013.

Deputy Marnie Mills served the Kent County community for 25 years. In 1996, she was hired as a county police officer. She worked in our Community Services Unit, Investigative Unit, and Mounted Unit. She has been a Field Training Officer since 1997 and was the recipient of a Life-Saving Award in 2012.

Congratulations to Karen, Jason, Salvatore, Danial, K-9 Sabre, and Marnie!
