City of Taylor issued the following announcement on July 12.

The Good to Great Neighborhood Program is heading for Area #21, the neighborhoods between Beech Daly, Wick, Ecorse and Telegraph.

Residents in that area soon will be receiving more details in the mail.

G2G focuses on enhancements such as beautification, parks, signage, tree trimming, utilities, roads, catch basins, businesses, LED lighting, blight removal, sewer maintenance and even public safety.

Feedback is welcome. If you have questions, email Sam DiCicco at sdicicco@ci.taylor.mi.us. Title your email “Area #21.”

Police will hold two different “Cop on the Corner” gatherings: July 20 (Boardman Park) and July 27 (Hayes and Munson). Each will begin at 5 p.m. The gatherings are designed so that residents can discuss issues with police in a relaxed setting.

Free mulch is available at the following locations: Banner, north of Hayes; Mills, north of Hayes; and Wilkie, north of Haskell.

G2G also offers an easement tree replacement program for a discount price of $200 per tree (three selections). If you purchase a tree, the City will install it in a bed of soft-edge mulch and provide a slow release watering bag per tree. Anyone interested should email DiCicco.

G2G work is currently underway in the Taylor Parks Elementary School area; the southwest corner of the City; and in the Goddard-Allen corner.
