Emergencylight

Career Quest Learning Center-Mt. Pleasant issued the following announcement on Sept. 16

Career Quest Learning Centers (CQLC) is proud to have been part of this year’s Race for Rescue(link is external), benefitting the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission’s goal of providing emergency shelter for Bay City youth, ages 12 to 17.

Based on The Amazing Race TV show, the road rally-style event took place on Saturday, September 14 and invited teams of four to race through the streets of Bay City, deciphering clues and puzzles along the way. When they arrived at the CQLC Bay City campus, (3900 State Street, Suite 200), participants had to complete four short challenges: take a team member’s height and weight, take another’s temperature, piece together a model of the human brain, and take a team picture to post on social media using #CAREERQUEST.

“Good Samaritan provides help and shelter to members of our community that really have nowhere else to turn, at a time when they need it most,” said Bay City Campus President Cassie Ferrer. “We’re excited to be part of such a fun event with such an important mission.”

The winning Race for Rescue team, Scrappy Chicks, received $1,000 and all participants celebrated with finish line festivities at the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple, with a silent auction and dinner catered by Vince’s Uptown Grill.

The 2019 Race for Rescue was presented by Paramount Rehabilitation Services. In addition to CQLC, other sponsors/stops included Bay City Town Center, McLaren Bay Region, Great Lakes Pain Center, United Bay Community Credit Union, Oakland Orthopedic Appliances, SC Johnson, Stock Pot, Total Family Healthcare, Water Street, JT’s Pub & Grill, Charis Acoustic, Terminue Brake & Muffler Shop, Durbin & Lang OB-GYN, Graff Bay City, Dr. Harmohan S.
