As Election Day 2025 approaches, Common Cause Michigan is urging voters who encounter difficulties or have questions about voting to reach out to a nonpartisan election protection hotline. The organization is part of a national effort aimed at providing assistance to those facing challenges at the polls.
The hotlines are available in several languages. English speakers can call or text 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683). For Spanish, the number is 888-VE-Y-VOTA (888-839-8682). Asian language support is offered at 888-API-VOTE (888-274-8683), and Arabic speakers can contact 844-YALLA-US (844-925-5287).
Common Cause Michigan states that these toll-free hotlines are staffed by trained volunteers who can help with issues such as voter registration, locating polling places, and addressing other concerns related to casting a ballot.
“If you have any questions, concerns, or problems voting anywhere in Michigan, call or text 866-OUR-VOTE to receive nonpartisan assistance. Local elections are as important as any other election and your vote deserves to be heard,” said Quentin Turner, Common Cause Michigan Executive Director.
