Frank Prezzato, a 69-year-old resident of St. Clair Shores, has been sentenced to six months of delayed probation after pleading guilty to voting both absentee and in-person during the August 2024 Primary Election. The announcement was made by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.

Prezzato admitted that he acted recklessly when he cast two ballots in the same election. On Election Day, he appeared at his local polling place and voted in person despite having already submitted an absentee ballot for the same primary. Both votes were counted.

He was charged with one count of Voting Absentee and In-Person and one count of Offering to Vote More Than Once in October 2024.

Attorney General Nessel commented on the case at the time of Prezzato’s plea: “Voting twice undermines our democratic process. My office will continue to prosecute those who violate our voting laws to ensure Michigan voters have confidence in the integrity of our elections.”

If Prezzato complies with all terms and conditions of his probation, all charges will be dismissed with prejudice once the probationary period ends. A review hearing is scheduled for April 15, 2026, at Macomb County’s 16th Circuit Court.
