An Ohio resident, Donovan Reynolds, won $150,000 after purchasing a Powerball ticket in Michigan. Reynolds, 68, matched four white balls and the Powerball in the July 23 drawing. The base prize of $50,000 was tripled due to the Power Play feature. The winning ticket was bought at Big Daddy’s Truck Stop in Ottawa Lake.

“I typically play Powerball in Ohio, but I was in Michigan for the day golfing, so I bought my ticket while I was here,” said Reynolds. “I checked the winning numbers the next day and froze when I saw I matched four white balls and the Powerball. I was stunned! I have been playing these numbers for awhile and they finally paid off.”

Reynolds claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters and intends to use his winnings for his daughter’s college fund.

The upcoming Saturday Powerball jackpot is estimated at $482 million with a cash option of $218.9 million. If won, it would be the fifth jackpot awarded this year. Tickets can be purchased for $2 at retailers or online through MichiganLottery.com. Players can add a “Power Play” option for an extra dollar to multiply non-jackpot prizes up to ten times or include Double Play for another chance to win up to $10 million.

Drawings are held three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m., with live broadcasts available online at http://www.powerball.com. Powerball tickets are available in 45 states as well as Washington D.C., U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
