A Wayne County resident won $150,000 after playing the Michigan Lottery’s Magic Money Ride online instant game. The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, initially believed he had won a much smaller amount.

“I play online at MichiganLottery.com regularly and usually try a different game each time I play,” said the player. “I was a few rounds into Magic Money Ride when my phone started going crazy! I didn’t have my glasses on, so I thought I won $150 at first. When I put my glasses on and saw it was actually $150,000, I dropped my phone in disbelief. This prize is going to be a nice bonus for my wife and I.”

The 53-year-old recently claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters. He stated that he plans to use the winnings to pay bills and save the rest.

The Michigan Lottery provides players with opportunities to win prizes from $1 up to multimillion-dollar jackpots through its online platform. The platform features more than 200 games with prices ranging from 5 cents to $50. Since its launch in 2014, over one million people have registered for online play.
