An Upper Peninsula resident has won a significant prize from the Michigan Lottery's Lucky For Life game. Carrie Settino, from L’Anse, secured the win after her ticket matched five white balls drawn on July 2: 03-06-16-22-42. The winning ticket was purchased online at MichiganLottery.com.

Settino recounted her reaction upon discovering her win. "I play Lucky For Life every once in a while, and whenever I play, I log into my account the next day to see if I won anything," she said. "That’s exactly what I did this time, except instead of seeing the usual $4 or $6 prize, I saw a huge balance! I started shaking and thought to myself that there was no way it was real. Once I confirmed I really did win, I shared the exciting news with my family. It was awesome!"

At 56 years old, Settino opted for a one-time lump sum payment of $390,000 instead of receiving $25,000 annually for life or 20 years. She plans to save her winnings.

Lucky For Life is available for $2 per play and offers prizes ranging from $3 to lifetime cash awards. To win the top prize of $1,000 daily for life, players must match all five numbers between 1 and 48 plus one Lucky Ball between 1 and 18. Those matching only the five numbers without the Lucky Ball receive $25,000 annually for life. Drawings occur nightly at 10:38 p.m., with tickets available both online and at retailers statewide.
