Today, Christopher Allen and Wesley Ann Conner were arraigned in the 84th District Court in Cadillac, Michigan. The charges involve multiple felony counts of child abuse. Attorney General Dana Nessel announced the proceedings against Allen, 33, from Reed City, and Conner, 21, from Leroy.

The charges stem from alleged severe physical abuses in 2023 involving Allen's minor relative who was under two years old at the time. Allen faces one count of First-Degree Child Abuse with a potential life sentence and two counts of Second-Degree Child Abuse carrying a possible 10-year sentence each. Conner is charged with two counts of Second-Degree Child Abuse and one count of Third-Degree Child Abuse which could result in a two-year sentence.

Attorney General Nessel stated: “No child should ever have to endure abuse, especially at the hands of adults who are supposed to protect and care for them.” She emphasized her office's commitment to holding perpetrators accountable.

Allen and Conner are scheduled for their next court appearance on July 15.

It is important to note that criminal charges are allegations. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The Department does not provide booking photos.
