Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced that three Assistant Attorneys General from the Department of Attorney General have received significant honors for their service. Roshundra Graham-Simmons and Marla Linderman Richelew were awarded the State Bar of Michigan’s Champion of Justice Award, recognizing their integrity and professional accomplishments. Alexandria Casperson was recognized as a 2025 Rising Star by the National Association of Women’s Lawyers (NAWL) for her efforts in advancing women in the legal profession.
“We are lucky to have some of the most dedicated public servants in the country right here at the Department of Attorney General,” Nessel stated. “I am so proud of Alex, Roshundra, and Marla, not just for this recognition, but for the incredible work they do every single day for the people of Michigan.”
Casperson oversees several sections within the department, including Job Court and Expungement. She has a background in prosecuting criminal cases involving political and police misconduct and began her career at Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office in 2015. She is active with various legal associations and committees.
Graham-Simmons leads the Litigation Section of Children and Youth Services Division. Before joining as an Assistant Attorney General in 2019, she represented children as a Lawyer Guardian Ad Litem. Her previous roles include positions with Michigan's Department of Health and Human Services.
Linderman Richelew specializes as an Appellate Specialist in Civil Rights & Election Law Division. She has authored works for multiple legal publications and held leadership roles in various law associations. Linderman Richelew has been consistently recognized by Michigan Lawyers Weekly since 2006.
