The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has launched a series of digital advertisements spotlighting Michigan Representative Tom Barrett's support for small businesses. The ads are part of an ongoing campaign by NFIB to advocate for making the Small Business Tax Deduction permanent.
These advertisements will be shown across Michigan's 7th District, emphasizing Rep. Barrett's efforts in Congress to secure the deduction. The campaign also features testimonials from NFIB members through video ads, sharing how the deduction has benefited their businesses and the potential impact if it is not upheld.
"Over the last seven years the Small Business Tax Deduction has helped America’s small businesses grow and hire," stated Amanda Fisher, NFIB Michigan State Director. "Rep. Tom Barrett understands the importance of the Small Business Deduction and has been a leading voice in Congress to make it permanent. With Congress currently considering sweeping tax legislation, we are hopeful that lawmakers act quickly and protect America’s small businesses from a massive tax increase."
The Small Business Tax Deduction was introduced as part of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. It allows small business owners to deduct up to 20% of their qualified business income, providing a competitive edge against larger corporations.
