A Lapeer County resident recently won $300,000 playing the Michigan Lottery's 20X Wild Time instant game. The 58-year-old winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, shared his disbelief upon discovering the win.

“I always play the 20X Wild Time game because I like that I can scan the non-winning tickets for a second chance,” he said. After purchasing several tickets and scratching them late at night, he initially thought his eyes were deceiving him when he saw the $300,000 prize. To confirm, he asked his wife to scan the ticket using the Lottery app.

“When $300,000 came up on the screen I jumped up and started shouting! Needless to say, I didn’t get much sleep that night. Winning is life-changing and will allow us to live debt free.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Village Station in Columbiaville, located approximately 25 miles northeast of Flint. The man has already visited Lottery headquarters to claim his prize and plans to use his winnings for a trip and financial freedom from debt.

Since its launch in April 2024, players have won over $35 million with the 20X Wild Time game. Each ticket costs $5 and offers prizes ranging from $5 to $300,000. There are still more than $10 million in prizes available, including twelve prizes of $2,500 each and seventy prizes of $500 each.

In 2024 alone, players won nearly $1.8 billion through instant games offered by the Michigan Lottery. These games are available for purchase at retailers throughout Michigan.
