Chadwick Mobley has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2011 murder of Andrea Eilber in Lapeer County, Michigan. The sentencing was announced by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel following Mobley's no-contest plea in February to charges of First-Degree Murder, Felony Murder, and Felony Firearm. The sentence was handed down by Judge Michael Nolan in the 40th Circuit Court in Lapeer County.

Attorney General Nessel credited the teamwork involved in securing this sentence. "Because of the collaborative efforts of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police, and prosecutors from my office, Mr. Mobley will spend the remainder of his life in prison for the horrific murder of Andrea," she stated. She extended her condolences to Andrea's family and expressed hope that the outcome would bring some comfort.

The case traces back to 2011 when Eilber was shot at a family member's home in Lapeer. DNA evidence from the scene was instrumental in identifying Mobley as the suspect during a renewed investigation in 2022. Mobley, who had relocated to Utah, fled after being questioned by Michigan State Police. He was eventually captured by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department in Montana and extradited to Michigan for prosecution.
