The NMU women's swim and dive team concluded the second day of competition at the 2025 NCAA Championship in Indianapolis, Indiana. The team achieved notable success with two athletes and one relay team earning Second Team All-America honors.
Anika Wright was recognized for her performance in the 1000 freestyle, Kalina Ceglinski for her efforts in the 1-meter diving, and the 200 medley relay team consisting of Camilla Carbone, Zoe DeKievit, Mia Strazny, and Becca Burrows also received accolades.
During the morning session, Geyer participated in heat two of the women's 1000 freestyle time trial, finishing with a time of 10:11.73. She placed 12th before the final eight competitors took to the pool later that evening. Ultimately, Geyer finished in 19th place overall.
Wright competed in heat three of the same event and completed her race with a time of 10:09.08. She finished second in her heat and sixth overall among those who swam in the morning session. After all competitors had completed their races by evening's end, Wright secured a 13th-place finish.
Ceglinski advanced to the consolation final for the 1-meter diving after scoring a preliminary score of 378.80 during the morning session. Her performance earned her a spot on the Second Team All-America list as she concluded fourth in the consolation final with an overall score of 386.55, placing her at twelfth overall.
In the evening session, NMU's participation ended with their entry into the 200 medley relay event. The team comprised Carbone (backstroke), DeKievit (breaststroke), Strazny (fly), and Burrows (freestyle) placed seventh within their heat and fifteenth overall with a total time of 1:42.59.
NMU's upcoming events include Thursday’s preliminaries featuring Wright in multiple categories alongside other teammates competing across various disciplines through Saturday’s finals.
