The Northern Michigan University (NMU) women's swim and dive team began the year with a commanding performance, securing victories in 14 out of 16 events during their first meet back at the PEIF Pool. The team triumphed over the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) with a score of 186-87.

Becca Burrows achieved first place in all four of her events: the 200 Medley Relay, 100 Breaststroke, 100 Freestyle, and 400 Freestyle Relay. Zoe DeKievit also performed well, finishing first in both the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Breaststroke and second in the 50 Freestyle. Mia Strazny claimed top positions in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Backstroke, and 400 Free Relay.

Kalina Ceglinski excelled in diving, winning both the one-meter and three-meter events. Both Ceglinski and Abbie Harned secured six-dive NCAA qualification scores.

The meet's detailed results highlight NMU's strong performances across various categories. In the relays, NMU's A team won both the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:48.99 and the 400 Free Relay clocking in at 3:36.34.

Individual event highlights include Steigauf's solo win in the 1000 Free with a time of 11:03.09 and Izydorek’s uncontested victory in the 200 Fly at a time of 2:18.96.

In diving events, Ceglinski led with scores of 278.78 on one meter and continued to dominate on three meters with a score of 273.30.

Overall, NMU demonstrated strong individual performances contributing to their overall success against UWSP as they returned to competition for their home opener.
