The Northern Michigan University (NMU) women's swim and dive team concluded their participation at the Calvin College Winter Invitational, securing a second-place finish after three days of competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan. NMU accumulated 1,913.5 points, finishing behind Grand Valley State University (GVSU) with 2,149 points and ahead of Findlay with 1,577.5 points.
During the event, NMU achieved two NCAA provisional times, one first-place finish, and six podium placements across seven events on the final evening. Annika Geyer and Anika Wright delivered notable performances in the 1650 freestyle event by finishing first and second respectively. Both swimmers were separated by just .02 seconds and earned NCAA qualifying marks.
The finals results for NMU included strong performances across various events:
- In the 1650 Free, Annika Geyer clocked a time of 17:07.86 to secure first place while Anika Wright followed closely at 17:07.88.
- Mia Strazny placed third in the 200 Back with a time of 2:01.12.
- Becca Burrows secured third place in the 100 Free with a time of 51.04.
- In the diving category, Abigail Harned achieved second place in the 3 Meter Diving event with a score of 424.15.
NMU's relay team also performed well in the 400 Free Relay event, finishing second with a combined time of 3:26.00.
The preliminary rounds saw several NMU swimmers qualifying for finals across different events including Mia Strazny and Camilla Carbone in the 200 Back A final and Becca Burrows in the A final for the 100 Free.
