Five members of the Northern Michigan University (NMU) Women's Soccer team have been named to the 2024 D2CCA All-Midwest Region Teams. The announcement was made by the Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) on Tuesday.

The NMU Wildcats received recognition for their performance, with five players earning accolades. This achievement is second only to Maryville, which had six players recognized, and it is the highest among Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) teams. The selection process considered statistics from both the regular season and conference tournaments.

Brooke Pietila, GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year, and Hannah Kastamo, GLIAC Defensive Player of the Year, were named as first-team all-midwest region athletes. Pietila was selected as a midfielder and ranked fourth in total assists (10), sixth in points (30), and ninth in goals (10). Kastamo was chosen for her defensive skills, having registered 16 points from five goals and six assists.

Justina L'Esperance and Molly Pistorius earned second-team honors as forwards. L'Esperance led the region in total goals and goals per game while ranking second in total points. Pistorius topped the region in total assists and assists per game, placing within the top-10 for points. Maria Storm also received second-team recognition for her defensive contributions, logging 1,814 minutes of playing time.

The D2CCA All-Midwest Region Teams were selected by sports information directors from NCAA Division II schools within the midwest region. Players named to the first team will be considered for all-American voting.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association aims to promote Division II athletics and uphold high standards of sportsmanship as part of higher education. The CCA serves as a communication link among conferences discussing policies impacting Division II intercollegiate athletics and collaborates closely with NCAA member colleges and universities.
