The NMU men's hockey team concluded the opening weekend of conference play with a 6-3 loss against the Huskies in Houghton, Michigan. Despite an early lead, the Wildcats could not maintain their advantage.
In the first period, the Wildcats scored three consecutive goals to lead 3-1. Grayden Slipec contributed significantly with two goals and an assist, marking his first collegiate goal and multi-point night. Medrick Bolduc also scored, while Jakub Altrichter and Tynan Ewart provided assists.

The game started with Raiman of the Huskies scoring just 30 seconds in. Slipec then tied it for NMU on a power play before adding another goal to give NMU the lead. Bolduc extended the lead by capitalizing on a rebound from Altrichter's shot-pass.
Michigan Tech responded by narrowing the gap with Pederson's goal in the second period and eventually tying it through Trevor Kukkonen’s one-timer late in the same period.
In the final period, Sardarian gave Michigan Tech a lead they would not relinquish by scoring seven minutes into play. The Huskies added two empty-net goals to seal their victory at 6-3.
NMU will host Lake Superior State at Berry Events Center on November 8th and 9th as they continue their season.
