MPHI has announced the establishment of the Center for Precision Public Health (CPPH). This new center will build on the efforts of MPHI’s Center for Strategic Health Partnerships (CSHP) and the Center for Data Management and Translational Research (CDMTR), aligning with their missions to support public health initiatives, research, and education.
The CPPH will concentrate on five key areas: community engagement, data analytics and evaluation, child and adolescent mental health, education and training, and public health infrastructure. The center aims to foster new research, back data-driven projects, encourage community-led program development, and provide technical assistance to promote health equity.
“Our Center is steadfast in its commitment to improving the health and well-being of every individual by reducing health disparities, facilitating community-led program development, and providing technical assistance to those who need it most,” stated Mat Edick, PhD, Director of the Center. “I am thankful for the opportunity to lead the Center for Precision Public Health, where two strong Centers with a shared vision and complementary expertise join together to advance public health.”
In 2023, CSHP was recognized as an approved Pediatric Portfolio Sponsor by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). CPPH will continue this role by designing and evaluating quality improvement projects aimed at increasing healthcare access for underserved populations.
Furthermore, CPPH has recently been endorsed as an American Medical Association (AMA) education hub trusted content provider. This approval enables CPPH to distribute educational opportunities through the AMA Ed Hub. It also enhances CPPH's potential impact on national health outcomes by broadening its project reach.
