FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024.
In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at DeKalb Times have requested records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. The records requested are specifically a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024, till September 26, 2024.
The fields we have asked for in the list include the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and the amount paid. As a media organization committed to transparency and holding public institutions accountable, access to such public records is essential for us.
We believe that as members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals. We will continue our work in disseminating information to ensure transparency and accountability in our local government institutions.
