The 20th annual A Northern Tradition, a fundraiser for Mid Michigan College sponsored by Jay’s Sporting Goods, will be held 5pm-8pm Sunday, April 16 in Clare.

This unique event has raised more than $1.7 million over the last 19 years, benefiting the students at Mid Michigan College. Proceeds from A Northern Tradition support vital needs like scholarships, program development, improved facilities, and student success initiatives.

“The response from the community has always been tremendous,” said Matt Miller, VP of Advancement at Mid. “The College and Jay’s Sporting Goods are excited to host one of the most anticipated events of the year. We expect over 600 attendees will help us raise about $100,000 to support students at Mid.”

Tickets to the event are just $50 each. Ticket holders will receive a $25 Jay’s gift certificate to spend that night in the store. The store is open only to event attendees, who also receive a print by renowned artists and free food from local restaurants. Prizes, silent auctions, and demonstrations will round out the evening of fun.

Each ticket also enters a drawing for a $1,000 gift certificate to Jay’s Sporting Goods.

Tickets are available at Mid’s Harrison and Mt. Pleasant campuses, Jay’s Sporting Goods in Clare, or online at midmich.edu/ant.

“We’re looking forward to making the 20th Northern Tradition one of the best ever,” said Miller. “We’re so grateful for the community members and local businesses who step up to support higher education.”
