Baker College Center for Graduate Studies issued the following announcement.

WOKE - A Discussion of Personal Journeys

Date: Tuesday, November 10, 2020

Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Where: Online Event

Are you "woke?" Do you know what it means to be "woke?" The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council is sponsoring an online Zoom session where Baker College employees will discuss aspects of being "woke" and their personal evolutions towards becoming "WOKE." Join us to learn more and perhaps become a little more "woke" along the way.

Speakers will include Director of Financial Aid Services Nicole Boelk and Occupational Therapy Assistant Program Director Evelyn Greaux.

Nicole Boelk has worked for Baker College, in financial aid, for over 15 years. She was a founding member of Baker College's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council and also serves on the Owosso campus chapter of DEI. Nicole is a transracial adoptive mom to two amazing kids and shares that their coming into her life is what sped up her "woke" process.

Evelyn Greaux has worked for Baker College for 17 years as an adjunct instructor and as the OTA Program Director. She serves on the Owosso campus chapter of DEI. Her “woke” process began when she joined Dr. Marshall in the Black History Month presentations to assure that her students were aware of culture differences and accomplishments.
