Winter Property Taxes Due on Tuesday, Feb. 14

EAST LANSING, Mich. — East Lansing property owners are reminded that winter property taxes are due on Tuesday, Feb. 14. The City offers several options for making payments:

  • Online: Credit card and e-check payments can be made online by visiting www.cityofeastlansing.com/paymentoptions
  • By Mail: Payments can be mailed to East Lansing Treasury, 410 Abbot Road, East Lansing, MI 48823
  • In Person: Payment can be made at the Treasury windows at City Hall, 410 Abbot Road, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. 
  • After Hours: A blue payment drop box is in the north parking lot of East Lansing City Hall, 410 Abbot Road, for property tax payments as well as water bills, income tax payments, building and housing items and miscellaneous invoice payments. The box is secure and checked daily. Yellow drop boxes should only be used for court-related items.

Property taxes not paid by Feb. 14 will incur a 3% penalty. All unpaid real property taxes will be sent to Ingham and Clinton counties on March 1, at which time additional penalties will be applied. Community members with questions can call (517) 319-6860
