The Michigan Department of Transportation announced on April 20 that one lane of westbound Interstate 94 at Sandstone Road in Jackson will be closed on Wednesday, April 22, to complete repairs on a bridge damaged by a high-load strike last year.
The closure is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and aims to fix damage sustained on April 26, 2023. Drivers are advised to expect delays and consider alternate routes during the repair period.
According to the department, “This portion of work will require closing one lane of westbound I-94 at Sandstone Road on Wednesday to repair bridge damage from a high-load strike.” The agency also said, “This work will repair the portion of the bridge that was damaged.”
The Michigan Department of Transportation manages nearly 10,000 miles of state highways and more than 4,800 bridges across Michigan, according to the official website.
