The Wayne State University women’s golf team was selected on May 3 to participate in the NCAA East Regional, marking its eighth consecutive appearance at the event. The Warriors will compete as the 14th seed from May 4 through May 6 at Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio.

This selection allows Wayne State to continue its postseason journey and underscores the team’s consistent performance. Participation in this regional provides student-athletes with an opportunity to compete at a high level and represents ongoing recognition of their efforts.

Head coach Larry Hamilton said, “We always look forward to regionals and I couldn’t be more proud of this team and how they’ve competed all spring. We’ve had to start only four players in each of our tournaments this spring, which means every round, every score counts. They’ve embraced that challenge and have shown a lot of mental toughness. Findlay Country Club is a great course that we are very familiar with and are really looking forward to playing again.”

The NCAA East Regional is one of four regional tournaments used to determine participants for the championship finals. Eighteen teams from across four regions—East, Central, South, and West—along with six individuals not on those teams will compete for advancement. The top four teams from the east region as well as top individuals not on advancing teams will move on to the National Championships after three rounds of play.

Wayne State Warriors Women’s Golf is affiliated with Wayne State University according to the official website. The program participates in intercollegiate athletics at the NCAA Division II level within the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference according to the official website, operating out of Detroit, Michigan according to the official website.

As competition begins at Findlay Country Club, observers will watch closely as Wayne State seeks another strong finish during postseason play.
