The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will carry out inspections of the Heath M. Robinson Memorial Cut River Bridge on US-2 in Mackinac County from October 27 to October 31. The work will require a closure and detour of US-2 during this period.

Traffic on US-2 will be redirected along Cut River Road and Prater Boulevard, with the speed limit reduced to 45 mph. Over-width permits will not be issued for vehicles traveling through the detour section.

According to MDOT, the detour is necessary to allow for a detailed inspection of the bridge. The planned activities include survey scanning, reach-all inspections, and soil borings. These efforts are intended to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the bridge.
