Ward Glass, a 69-year-old resident of Marquette, was found guilty by a Houghton County jury on six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. The Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced the conviction.

The offenses occurred between 1993 and 1996 when the victim was a minor living in the same household as Glass in Houghton County. After nearly thirty years, the victim filed a complaint with the Michigan State Police in 2024 following an encounter with Glass. The Department of Attorney General charged Glass in September 2024.

“Coming forward to report a sexual assault takes extraordinary courage,” said Nessel. “I commend the survivor in this case for her strength and the Michigan State Police and prosecutors in my office for their diligent work in pursuing this case and securing this conviction. My office will continue to stand with survivors and pursue justice, no matter how much time has passed.”

Glass is scheduled for sentencing on January 6 before Judge Brittany A. Bulleit at the 12th Circuit Court in Houghton County.
