Liesl Haugen, Junior Player | Northern Michigan Wildcats Women's Volleyball
Northern Michigan University junior libero Liesl Haugen has been recognized as the GLIAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. This is the second time in her career that she has received this award.
Haugen contributed to the Wildcats’ recent road victories against Saginaw Valley State and Lake Superior State. In the match against Saginaw Valley State, she matched her season-high with 25 digs during a five-set game. She then recorded 16 digs in a three-set win over Lake Superior State. Additionally, Haugen provided support as a setter, tallying three assists in each contest.
Currently, Haugen averages 4.88 digs per set across four GLIAC matches, placing her fourth among all players in the conference for this statistic. Her performance continues to be important for Northern Michigan’s defensive efforts.
The Wildcats are scheduled to play two more away games this week: first against Michigan Tech Huskies on Thursday, October 9, and then at Purdue Northwest on Saturday, October 11.
