The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has granted Consumers Energy a permit to carry out utility work on US-12 (Chicago Street) at Evans Street in Jonesville, Hillsdale County. The work is scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025, beginning at 9 a.m. and expected to conclude by 2 p.m.

During the project, drivers will be required to treat the intersection as a four-way stop. MDOT advises motorists to anticipate delays while the work is underway.

According to MDOT, "This four-way stop will alert traffic and allow traffic to operate more smoothly and efficiently during this permit work, increasing safety for motorists and utility workers."

The temporary traffic change aims to ensure both driver and worker safety as utility improvements are completed.
