The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has announced that utility work will take place on westbound I-94 in Jackson County. The work, conducted by NTH under an MDOT permit, will occur between Hawkins Road and Elm Avenue.
According to MDOT, the lane closure is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, and is expected to end by 3 p.m. the same day. The project will require a single-lane closure for the duration of the operation.
Motorists traveling through this area should anticipate delays due to the traffic restriction. MDOT stated, "Closing a lane will ensure the safety of utility workers and motorists."
The affected section of highway is near the community of Jackson.
