A Genesee County resident has won a $400,000 Club Keno prize from the Michigan Lottery after opting to play a 10-spot ticket rather than his usual eight-spot ticket. The 71-year-old winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket at Uno’s of Birch Run on Market Place Drive in Birch Run.
The player matched 10 out of 20 numbers drawn—03, 07, 13, 17, 23, 27, 33, 37, 71, and 77—in draw number 2505596 on August 29. His initial win was $100,000 but was multiplied to $400,000 thanks to The KICKER option.
“I typically play an eight-spot Club Keno ticket, but that day I decided to play a 10 spot instead,” said the player. “I was watching the drawings while eating dinner at Uno’s when I saw all 10 of my numbers come in. It was so exciting!”
He recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim his prize and said he plans to save his winnings.
Club Keno offers players multiple ways to participate and win by selecting up to ten numbers from one through eighty. Prize amounts are based on the wager placed. Tickets can be purchased at retailers statewide with drawings every three and a half minutes. Results and live drawings are available online at MichiganLottery.com.
In the previous year, players across Michigan won over $387 million playing Club Keno games (https://www.michiganlottery.com/).
