The Powerball jackpot has reached $1.8 billion, making it the second largest in both Powerball and U.S. lottery history. The cash option for the jackpot stands at $826.4 million.

“Anticipation is high across the state as we head into the weekend with a $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot up for grabs Saturday,” said Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli. “Michiganders have won millions in prizes since the current Powerball jackpot run began, including three $1 million prizes and one $2 million prize, and I hope the winning streak continues with a billionaire in Michigan Saturday night!”

If won, this would be the second largest Powerball prize ever awarded, following previous record jackpots such as the $2.04 billion won on November 7, 2022, and surpassing several other large wins like the $1.326 billion on April 6, 2024.

This Saturday’s drawing marks the 42nd consecutive drawing without a jackpot winner—Powerball’s longest stretch to date. The previous record was 41 drawings without a winner; similar runs resulted in some of the biggest jackpots in recent years.

Since June 2, when this current jackpot cycle started, players in Michigan have collected over $12 million in winnings from Powerball prizes—including three prizes of $1 million and one prize of $2 million.

Michigan last saw a major Powerball win on January 1, 2024, when a Mid-Michigan lottery club claimed an $842.4 million jackpot with a ticket purchased in Grand Blanc—the largest ever awarded to a Michigan player.

Powerball tickets are available at retailers statewide until 9:58 p.m. on Saturday or online at MichiganLottery.com (https://www.michiganlottery.com/). Each play costs $2; adding “Power Play” increases non-jackpot winnings by up to ten times for an additional dollar per play, while Double Play offers another chance at up to $10 million nightly for an extra dollar.

Drawings take place Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m., viewable live online at http://www.powerball.com (http://www.powerball.com). Tickets are sold in 45 states as well as Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
