The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has launched a new advertising campaign to thank Representative Tom Barrett of Michigan’s 7th District for his efforts in making the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent. The campaign includes radio and digital ads running throughout the district.
This initiative is part of NFIB’s ongoing advocacy for the Small Business Deduction, which was first introduced as part of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The deduction allows small business owners to deduct up to 20% of their qualified business income, which NFIB says helps small businesses compete with larger corporations.
“Making the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent is a big win for Main Street,” said NFIB Michigan State Director Amanda Fisher. “By voting to protect this tax relief, Rep. Barrett has given small business owners in Michigan the certainty they need to grow their operations, continue creating jobs, and give back to their communities. NFIB appreciates his leadership in standing up for small businesses in our state.”
The advertisements specifically recognize Rep. Barrett’s vote to secure this tax benefit and prevent what NFIB describes as a significant tax increase on small business owners.
