The Powerball jackpot has increased to $700 million for the upcoming Saturday drawing, with a cash option of $316 million. This is the largest Powerball prize offered in more than a year and marks the 36th drawing since the last jackpot was won on May 31 by a ticket purchased in California worth $204.5 million.
If someone wins on Saturday, it will be the fifth time this year that the Powerball jackpot has been claimed. The last time Michigan had a winner was on January 1, 2024, when a Mid-Michigan lottery club won $842.4 million with a ticket bought in Grand Blanc. That remains Michigan's biggest Powerball win to date.
Powerball tickets are available at retailers across Michigan until 9:45 p.m. on Saturday and can also be purchased online through MichiganLottery.com. Each play costs $2, and players can add the “Power Play” feature for an extra $1 per play, which increases non-jackpot prizes up to tenfold with a maximum payout of $2 million. Another option, Double Play, offers a second chance to win up to $10 million for an additional $1 per play.
Drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and can be watched live at http://www.powerball.com. Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states as well as Washington D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
