MPHI has welcomed three new summer interns to its team. Brittany Bishop and Mackenzie Alberts have joined the Michigan Juvenile Justice Re-Entry program, while Zinzile Malete will support Center-wide operations with a focus on child welfare.
Brittany Bishop is from East Lansing, Michigan, and is studying social work with a minor in child education at Walden University. She expressed her motivation for joining MPHI: “I wanted to do an internship at MPHI because its outstanding work within the community and advocating for juvenile youth is inspiring.”
Mackenzie Alberts hails from Lansing, Michigan. She is attending Adrian College, where she completed her bachelor's in criminal justice with a minor in psychology and is now pursuing her master's in criminal justice. Alberts stated, “I wanted to do an internship at MPHI because I’ve heard great things about the work that they do.”
Zinzile Malete is currently attending Howard University and pursuing a major in psychology. She hopes to become a research psychologist or clinical therapist. Malete said, “I am drawn to MPHI because my values align deeply with MPHI’s mission to ‘advance population health through public health innovation and collaboration.’”
The interns are expected to bring fresh knowledge and support to the team.
