A Montcalm County resident experienced an unexpected moment during her workday when she received an email from the Michigan Lottery, informing her of a $130,000 Fantasy 5 jackpot win.

Elizabeth LaCroix from Edmore matched the numbers in the May 27 drawing to secure the prize. The winning numbers were 04-05-06-08-12, and she purchased her ticket online at MichiganLottery.com.

“I have been playing Fantasy 5 for a while and I always buy my tickets online,” said LaCroix. “I was at work when an email from the Michigan Lottery came up on my phone saying I won a prize. I assumed it was a few dollars, but I logged in to my account to see how much I’d won."

“When I saw $130,000 in my account balance, I started screaming! I showed my coworker to make sure I was seeing things right and then sent a screenshot to my husband. It was hard to get back to work after because I was so shaken up!”

LaCroix, aged 56, visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim her winnings. She intends to use the money for home improvements by adding an addition to her house.

Fantasy 5 offers each play for $1. For another $1 per play, players can add EZmatch for a chance at winning up to $500 instantly or Double Play for another chance at winning up to $110,000 in nightly drawings. Players select five numbers between one and 39; matching all five wins a jackpot starting at $100,000.

Drawings occur daily at 7:29 p.m., with tickets available until 7:08 p.m. both online and through retailers.
