A $264 million Mega Millions jackpot is available this Friday, offering Michigan residents a chance to become the fifth person from the state to win the game’s jackpot on Friday the 13th. This day, often considered unlucky, has proven fortunate for some Michigan Lottery players in the past.

Michigan has seen four Mega Millions jackpots won on Friday the 13th, totaling $171 million in winnings. Notable wins include a $57 million jackpot by a Kent City man on June 13, 2008; a $27 million jackpot by a Kalamazoo man on May 13, 2011; a $66 million jackpot by a Port Huron woman on June 13, 2014; and a $21 million jackpot by a Waterford man on October 13, 2017.

This week’s Mega Millions drawing offers not only the potential of winning $264 million but also provides an option for winners to take home a cash prize of $117.3 million. The last time Michigan saw a Mega Millions win was in January 2021 when an Oakland County lottery club claimed a record-breaking $1.05 billion prize—the largest ever won in Michigan.

Tickets for this week's draw are available at lottery retailers throughout Michigan until 10:45 p.m. Friday and can also be purchased online at MichiganLottery.com. Each ticket costs $5 and includes a multiplier feature that can increase non-jackpot prizes up to tenfold, with maximum winnings capped at $10 million. Mega Millions tickets are sold across 45 states as well as Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
