A lottery club from Genesee County has won $2 million playing the Michigan Lottery's 100X instant game after a trip to the Upper Peninsula. The club's representative stated, "My friend has a cabin in the U.P. which we go to often, so we always stop to buy lottery tickets on the way there and on the way home." The winning ticket was purchased at the Trout Lake Speedy Mart, located at 21601 M 123 in Trout Lake.

On their journey back, one of the club members scratched the tickets, discovering the $2 million prize. The club member recalled, “When I scratched off the prize amount of $2 million, my heart started pounding and I felt like I was having a heart attack.” Notified of the win, the club's representative handed the ticket over, describing the situation as "unbelievable."

Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli commented on the win, stating, “Winning a $2 million Lottery prize is incredible and winning it with your best friend makes it even better!” The lottery club claimed their prize in a lump sum payment of approximately $1.3 million. Their plans include a trip to Florida, paying bills, and maintaining financial freedom.

The 100X instant game was launched in January and more than $37 million has been awarded. The game offers prizes from $20 to $2 million, and more than $65 million in prizes are still available. In 2024, instant game players claimed nearly $1.8 billion in prizes.

Lottery instant games can be purchased at retailers throughout Michigan.
