For the third consecutive year, the Northern Michigan men's basketball team has secured a spot in the Division II NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats earned an automatic bid by winning the GLIAC Tournament Championship. They are seeded sixth in the Midwest Region and will face their rival, third-seeded Michigan Tech, on Saturday, March 15 at 1 p.m. ET in Springfield, Illinois. The game is hosted by top seed Missouri S&T.
In other matchups within the Midwest Region, Missouri S&T will compete against eighth-seeded Malone, fourth-seeded Missouri-St. Louis will play fifth-seeded Ferris State, and second-seeded Lake Superior State will take on seventh-seeded Lincoln.
Last season, Northern Michigan traveled to Indianapolis but was defeated by Ferris State with a score of 81-65 in the first round.
