The Northern Michigan University (NMU) men's swim and dive team concluded their participation in the 2025 GLIAC Championships with a third-place finish among eight teams. The Wildcats accumulated 579 points, following Grand Valley's first place with 809 points and Wayne State's second place with 707 points.
The competition featured events such as the 1650 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 1-meter diving, and the 400 freestyle relay. Leo Nolles was recognized for his outstanding performance throughout the championship by being named the 2025 GLIAC Male Swimmer of the Year.
Nolles set a national best time in the men's second event of the finals with a record-breaking time of 42.72 seconds in the 100 free, earning him his sixth medal and fourth gold of the week.
Wyatt Dickman secured his fifth medal by sharing silver in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:56.86. Tobie Stiles achieved silver in the 1-meter diving event with a score of 451.30.
The NMU team ended their week on a high note by tying the GLIAC record and winning gold in the 400 free relay, thanks to William LaCount, Gabriel Fulconi, Daniel Khmara, and Nolles clocking in at a time of 2:54.13.
